Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does 7,000 SACC satisfy a six-thousand minimum without being treated as a 7,100 model?
Yes: LP0721WSR is rated at 7,000 DOE SACC, which meets 6,000 but does not meet a 7,100 threshold.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the included panel span an 18-inch clear slider?
LG’s shared LP0621WSR/LP0721WSR manual covers most sliders from 18 to 50 inches, subject to the real sash and lock geometry.
Explore this need in the finder →Will a ThinQ requirement accept this exact SKU?
No. The shared owner manual is explicitly labelled Non-WiFi and no app control is listed on the exact product or spec page.
Explore this need in the finder →Can this model heat the room?
LG documents Cool/Dry/Fan but no Heat mode for LP0721WSR.
Explore this need in the finder →The LG LP0721WSR moves one step above its white LP0621WSR sibling in rated cooling: 7,000 BTU/h SACC rather than 6,000. It keeps the same listed 17.32-by-27.36-by-13.27-inch case and 18–50-inch slider kit, but weighs 56.4 pounds instead of 54.2. The extra capacity is useful only when it matches the room and the requirement; it does not add heating or phone control.
One thousand more SACC, not a new feature class
LG lists the LP0721WSR at 7,000 BTU/h DOE SACC and 12,000 BTU/h ASHRAE. Compare the SACC number with other DOE figures, not the larger ASHRAE headline. Its maker-stated room estimate is up to 300 square feet. That remains a guide rather than a result for a particular home: sun exposure, ceiling height, leaky doors, insulation and equipment loads can change the cooling demand. The questionnaire’s 6,000-SACC threshold includes it; the next available 7,100-SACC threshold does not.
Its official feature set includes Cool, Dry and Fan, an LCD remote, two cooling fan speeds, an auto-swing outlet, restart after a power interruption, timer and washable filter. Those conveniences are worth distinguishing from connected control: the exact paired owner manual is labelled “Non-WiFi,” and the product materials do not list ThinQ for this SKU. It also has no documented Heat mode. If an app, voice assistant or winter heat is essential, do not rely on a retailer’s family photograph or the “portable AC” label to infer it.
A slightly heavier version of the same shallow case
At 17.32 inches wide, 27.36 inches high and 13.27 inches deep, the LP0721WSR shares the LP0621WSR’s listed cabinet envelope. This is a real space-saving point for a narrow floor area, although the hose still projects behind the unit and requires a smooth route outdoors. Its 56.4-pound listed weight is 2.2 pounds more than its lower-capacity sibling. Both have casters, but lifting across a sill or changing floors is not the job casters solve.
The LG manual says the supplied panel set fits most vertical sliding windows 18–50 inches wide, or horizontal sliders 18–50 inches high. Use a tape at the clear track opening and check the lock, sash depth and hose path. That range does not promise a fit for every frame. The hose is a single exhaust path, not a dual-hose or hose-in-hose setup.
Small differences in published use figures
The model-specific sheet reports 2.75 pints per hour dehumidification, 230 CFM dry-air flow and 53/50 dBA High/Low. These are manufacturer figures, not an independent moisture-removal or sound test. The sheet also lists 115 volts, 970 watts and 10.9 amps. LG’s manual requires a standard grounded 120-volt, 15-amp receptacle and says not to use an extension cord, surge protector or multi-outlet adapter. Respect the installation instructions even if the nominal wattage seems modest.
For water, LG describes a self-evaporating system but retains a lower collection tank: when the tank is full the display shows “FL” and the unit stops until it is emptied. If you use Dry mode in high humidity, the manual documents continuous gravity drainage through a 1/2-inch-ID garden hose. This applies to dehumidification, not as a permanent drain for Cool mode. Leave room to inspect the filter and reach the lower drain cap; the filter schedule is every two weeks, sooner when dirty.
The exact LG support page lists a one-year parts and one-year labor warranty. Current availability may differ among sellers; the identifying letters matter more than a photo of a similar cabinet.
When to choose this SKU
The LP0721WSR suits a smaller room where 7,000 SACC is enough, a compact depth is valuable and an included remote is preferable to app setup. Choose the LP0621WSR instead if 6,000 SACC suffices and you want its slightly lower listed weight. If you need 8,000 SACC and ThinQ, the larger LP0821GSSM is the meaningful step—not the 12,000 ASHRAE figure on this unit. For 10,000-SACC cooling, the heavier LP1021BSSM adds Wi-Fi; its nearly 29.3-inch cabinet height and 15.59-inch depth are different placement constraints. If you require heat, compare the separate LP1021BHSM and understand its hose-drain requirement.
Choose by a real need, not by an imagined performance ranking. The manufacturer sources establish a one-thousand-BTU SACC difference and a weight change from the LP0621, but they are not comparative tests of pull-down speed, electric cost or room comfort.
