A useful fit for

A compact, 6,000-SACC single-hose option when the 18–50-inch slider range and local remote/panel control suit the room.

The main tradeoff

Its rating remains 6,000 SACC, it has no documented app or heat mode, and its 1/2-inch garden-hose route is for Dry mode rather than continuous cooling.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Will the 6,000-SACC rating meet the minimum I set?

LG lists 6,000 BTU/h DOE SACC and 10,000 ASHRAE. It meets a 6,000 SACC minimum, not the next 7,100 threshold.

Does the supplied slider kit cover a narrow 18-inch opening?

The paired LP0621WSR/LP0721WSR manual gives 18–50 inches for most vertical or horizontal sliders; the actual sash profile still needs checking.

Can I require phone control for this model?

No. The exact paired manual is labelled Non-WiFi and the exact LP0621WSR materials document remote and local controls rather than ThinQ.

Does it provide heat?

The exact feature list is Cool/Dry/Fan only and does not document heating.

The LG LP0621WSR is a white, single-hose portable air conditioner with 6,000 BTU/h of DOE SACC cooling, a basic remote and manual control panel, and an 18–50-inch sliding-window kit. Its advantage is not a long feature list: it is a relatively short 13.27-inch cabinet depth and a rating suited to a smaller room where 6,000 SACC is enough.

Use the smaller rating to set expectations

LG lists 6,000 BTU/h under the DOE seasonal-adjusted method and 10,000 BTU/h under ASHRAE. Those numbers describe the same unit under different test methods; the larger one is not a second, stronger operating mode. If your requirement is at least 6,000 SACC, it qualifies. A 7,100-SACC threshold, or any larger one, excludes it. LG estimates cooling for spaces up to 250 square feet, but that is a maker’s sizing guide rather than a guarantee for a sunny top-floor bedroom, an open room, or a space with a lot of heat-producing equipment.

The exact product page describes Cool, Dry and Fan. Cool is the room-cooling mode; Dry is dehumidification and Fan circulates air without adding cooling. There is no documented Heat mode, Wi-Fi or ThinQ control in the exact model materials. Local controls and the included LCD remote are the practical controls here. LG’s spec sheet gives 53/50 dBA high/low figures; treat them as manufacturer specifications, not a test of noise at your bed or desk.

Compact in depth, still a floor appliance

The listed cabinet measures 17.32 inches wide, 27.36 inches tall and 13.27 inches deep, and weighs 54.2 pounds. The smaller front-to-back measurement helps in a shallow room, but the number does not include the space needed behind the unit for its hose, the curve of the hose, access to the filter or the clearance that keeps the unit’s airflow unobstructed. Put the cabinet near the opening it will exhaust through; it is not a tabletop device or something to carry up stairs casually.

The model-named LG manual says its included panel kit fits most vertical sliding windows 18–50 inches wide, or horizontal sliders 18–50 inches high. Measure the clear sash opening rather than the outside frame. An 18-inch entry point is useful for a narrow slider, but the manual’s word “most” matters: frame tracks, locks and an awkward sash can still prevent a secure installation. The supplied exhaust is one flexible hose, so this is not the dual-hose option for people who specifically need that layout.

Plan for water and power before moving it in

LG’s specification lists 115 volts, 930 watts and 10.4 amps. The manual describes a grounded 120-volt, 15-amp receptacle and warns against extension cords, surge protectors and multi-outlet adapters. Use the appliance instructions and a suitable circuit rather than treating its rolling casters as evidence it can plug into any convenient strip.

Self-evaporation can reduce routine water handling, but it is not the same as a guaranteed no-drain appliance. The manual describes a full collection tank that shows “FL” and stops the unit until emptied. For high-humidity dehumidification, it documents a 1/2-inch-inside-diameter garden hose at the continuous drain port in Dry mode only. That route does not turn into a continuous Cool-mode drain. Check the exact position and access of a floor drain or bucket before choosing a corner behind furniture.

LG calls for cleaning the filter every two weeks, more often if indoor air is dirty; a badly clogged filter reduces airflow. The exact support record lists one year for parts and one year for labor. The manual’s shared cover names LP0621WSR and LP0721WSR, and its kit/drain instructions apply to that paired model family; the rating, cabinet weight and dimensions above remain LP0621-specific.

Where it fits among nearby choices

Choose the LP0621WSR when 6,000 SACC is adequate, the shorter listed depth matters, and you are content with local remote/panel operation. It is a poor fit if your essential need is app control, heat, a documented inverter compressor, a dual-hose layout, or a continuous drain while cooling. If you need somewhat more stated capacity but want the same white, shallow cabinet and panel span, compare the LP0721WSR; it is 7,000 SACC but heavier and not a smart model either. For ThinQ and an 8,000-SACC rating, the gray LP0821GSSM is a distinctly larger, heavier configuration. If heat is essential, the LP1021BHSM adds it but has its own mandatory heat-mode drain setup.

Measure the room, window, route, outlet and cabinet clearance as a single plan. Do not select by a 10,000-BTU ASHRAE label when your target is a 6,000-SACC comparison, and do not expect a manufacturer area estimate to replace a room heat-load assessment.
