Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does a 10,000-SACC minimum admit LP1022FVSM while 12,000 does not?
LG lists 10,000 BTU/h SACC. That meets the 10,000 choice but not 12,000; 14,000 ASHRAE is a different rating.
Explore this need in the finder →Is an explicitly named DUAL Inverter essential?
Yes is supported by the exact LP1022FVSM LG page; similar rotary compressor wording on a specification is not used to cancel LG's model-specific inverter description.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the manual-listed slider range include an opening of 60 inches?
Yes, 60 inches is the upper edge of the documented standard 23–60-inch range. For an opening below 23, the manual permits trimming but does not state a final minimum.
Explore this need in the finder →Will a 70-pound lifting ceiling admit this unit?
No. The exact LP1022FVSM spec sheet lists 71 lb, above a 70-lb ceiling.
Explore this need in the finder →LG’s LP1022FVSM is a white, 10,000-BTU/h SACC single-hose portable AC with ThinQ and an explicitly named DUAL Inverter compressor. The exact owner manual puts its standard sliding-window panel range at 23–60 inches, and the model is listed at 71 pounds. It suits someone who values app control and the maker’s inverter claim more than a small, lightweight cabinet or a short-window installation.
Know what its capacity number means
LG’s exact title gives 10,000 SACC and 14,000 ASHRAE; compare the 10,000 SACC value with other current portable units. A requirement for 10,000 admits it, while a strict 12,000-SACC need does not. The larger ASHRAE number is a different test method, not extra capacity to use against a DOE threshold. LG estimates coverage up to 450 square feet, but the actual cooling load depends on sunlight, ceiling height, room connections and insulation. Treat the area as a manufacturer estimate rather than a promise.
LG names DUAL Inverter on the exact model page and describes quieter cooling versus traditional portable ACs. That is a feature claim, not proof of a particular power bill or a measured noise advantage. The 2024 specification sheet lists dBA values of 53/50/47/44 for High/Mid/Low/Sleep; these are LG’s figures, not an independent test. It lists CEER 7.9, but I have not verified an exact EnergyGuide label value. The questionnaire therefore will not treat a hard label-CEER threshold as met just because the spec sheet has a CEER number.
Check the long panel range—and the short-window caveat
The 2025 manual cover explicitly names both LP1022FVSM and LP1419IVSM. Its installation section gives a standard span from 23 to 60 inches for a vertical-sliding window’s width or a horizontal-sliding window’s height. This wide top end helps if another LG kit stops at 50 inches. The same manual says panel material can be trimmed when an opening is shorter than 23 inches, but it does not give a replacement lower limit. For a tight match below 23 inches, ask LG about the exact opening rather than treating an undocumented cut size as guaranteed. Measure the clear sash opening, then check the path of the hose and the cabinet’s position.
This is still a one-hose layout. The window range does not make the exhaust hose longer, remove the need to vent outdoors or solve a kinked route. Keep the unit close enough to the panel for a short, uncrushed connection, leave room for air to move and preserve access for cleaning and draining. The manual also includes electrical cautions: use the grounded 120-volt receptacle and dedicated 15-amp circuit it specifies; do not use an extension cord, surge protector or multi-outlet adapter.
Daily operation is simpler than a pump, but it still needs access
LG lists Cool, Dry and Fan rather than Heat. It promotes an auto-evaporation system to minimize draining, and lists ThinQ, Wi-Fi, a remote, auto swing, Auto Start, a 24-hour on/off timer and a filter alarm. The phone features can be useful when scheduling matters, but I am not testing connectivity or app behavior in a particular home. A full internal water tank can still produce an FL warning and stop the unit until the tank is emptied; the manual includes bottom-drain steps and says up to two pints may be discharged during maintenance.
Do not buy it as a continuous-drain model based on an evaporative feature. The exact manual I inspected explains emptying the collection tank but does not show a continuous garden-hose drain route or an integrated lift pump. If gravity drainage or pumping is essential, keep that requirement hard rather than hoping the unit’s water-management wording will substitute. LG recommends cleaning the filter every two weeks. Its exact support page lists one year of parts and labor.
One important specification sheet error affects fit decisions
The exact 2024 spec sheet lists the LP1022FVSM at 19 2/5 inches wide, 30 3/7 inches high and literally 118 1/9 inches deep. I inspected the original sheet as rendered: it really prints “118,” not an extracted-text accident. That depth is not plausible for this portable cabinet, and the exact model page I reviewed does not provide a better depth field. This assessment leaves the full cabinet dimensions unknown for hard-fit matching rather than silently correcting the manufacturer sheet with a retailer listing or a similar model. The sheet does give a 71-pound product weight, which still matters for lifting and moving.
The sheet also identifies a 115-volt supply, 1,370 watts, 12 amps, R32 refrigerant and 3.10 pints/hour dehumidification. That latter figure is not converted into a per-day number in this library. Model-specific evidence is useful, but a mislabeled dimension is a reminder to verify any physical clearance that must be exact.
Who should compare something else?
The LP1022FVSM is a reasonable choice when 10,000 SACC, ThinQ, explicitly named DUAL Inverter operation and a 23–60-inch standard panel range fit your priorities. It is not the right answer if heat, dual-hose exhaust, a confirmed EnergyGuide minimum, pump drainage or a known cabinet depth is essential. If your opening begins at 18 inches, compare the LP1023BSSM, whose model-named manual says 18–50 inches and whose exact sources do not identify it as DUAL Inverter. If a known width and depth matter more, the LP1419IVSM has a dimension table on its exact current product page, but it shares the same 23–60-inch manual family. The three-model comparison lays out those tradeoffs without assuming one cabinet is universally best.
