Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Is 7,000 BTU/h SACC enough, or is 7,100 SACC an essential minimum?
The exact LP0723WSR page lists 7,000 BTU/h SACC. It clears a 6,000-SACC choice, but not the 7,100-SACC option; the higher 10,500-BTU/h ASHRAE number cannot be used instead.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the measured sliding opening fall between 25 and 47 inches?
The exact manual gives a 25–47-inch slider range. Twenty-five and 47 inches are documented endpoints; a narrower or wider opening is not an established kit fit.
Explore this need in the finder →Is one exhaust hose acceptable, or is dual hose essential?
The LP0723WSR manual describes one flexible exhaust hose. A required hose-in-hose/dual-hose layout rules it out.
Explore this need in the finder →Is heating essential?
The exact LP0723WSR page and model-named manual document Cool, Dry and Fan modes, not heat. Essential heating excludes it.
Explore this need in the finder →Is app control essential?
The LP0723WSR page does not document a ThinQ feature and the family manual limits ThinQ to logo-equipped models. App operation is unconfirmed for this exact code and cannot meet an essential app requirement.
Explore this need in the finder →The LG LP0723WSR is a 7,000-BTU/h SACC single-hose portable air conditioner with a 25–47-inch sliding-window kit. Its place is a little unusual: it offers the 7,000-SACC class without app control being documented for this exact SKU, while its specification sheet is unusually specific about cabinet size, weight, sound rating and hose length. Measure the installation before letting its 300-square-foot estimate settle the decision.
Read the cooling number before the room estimate
LG lists the LP0723WSR at 7,000 BTU/h under the U.S. DOE/SACC method and 10,500 BTU/h under ASHRAE. Those are separate rating methods, not capacities to combine. The LG product page and specification sheet both describe an estimated cooling area up to 300 square feet, but that ceiling is a planning claim rather than a promise for every room of that size. A sun-facing room, tall ceiling, open doorway or heat-producing electronics can make the same floor area a harder load than a shaded, closed room.
This model clears a 6,000-SACC minimum, but its 10,500-BTU/h ASHRAE figure cannot substitute for a 7,100-SACC requirement. If your room is near LG's area estimate, account for sun, ceiling height, doorways and the exhaust route instead of treating square footage as a guarantee.
The manual's window range is a real constraint
The included kit is for vertical-sliding windows with a clear opening 25–47 inches wide, or horizontal-sliding windows with an opening 25–47 inches high. LG describes a 25-inch vent panel and a 25-inch extension, used alone at a 25-inch opening or together from 26 through 47 inches. Measure the sash where the panels will sit; don't assume that a nominal window size, trim, screen or lock leaves the same clear opening. Below 25 or above 47 inches is outside the documented range.
The single flexible hose is not a dual-hose arrangement. LG says to use its designed hose, keep it short and straight, and not extend it with an unapproved replacement. The exact sheet lists a 14–59-inch hose; place the cabinet near the window, seal the panel and keep the air inlet and outlet clear.
LG lists a 17 1/8-inch-wide, 27 3/4-inch-high and 13-inch-deep cabinet at 56.8 pounds. Use those values for a recess or carrying-path check, but leave ventilation room around the machine. Casters help on level floors, not with lifting it onto stairs.
Simple controls, with app support unconfirmed
The exact page lists a remote, two cooling and fan speeds, adjustable thermostat, Auto Swing, timer, Auto Restart and filter alert. Documented modes are Cool, Dry and Fan. LG's family manual limits ThinQ to models with its logo; the exact LP0723WSR page does not list app or Wi-Fi control, so app operation remains unconfirmed. If an app is essential, look for an exact SKU with a specific connected-control claim.
The sheet's electrical specifications are 115 V/60 Hz, 15 A plug type, 960 watts in cooling and 9.0 rated amps. The manual describes a grounded 120-volt, 15-amp receptacle and prohibits extension cords, surge protectors and multi-outlet adapters. That is a practical layout check: identify the proper outlet before rolling the unit into its final position, and follow the appliance's exact manual rather than relying on an adapter.
Plan for water even though cooling self-evaporates
LG describes auto-evaporation during cooling, but the model-named manual says an “FL” full-tank warning stops operation until the collected water is emptied. Leave access to the drain; self-evaporation does not mean drainage is impossible.
For Dry-mode dehumidifying, LG allows a 5/8-inch-inside-diameter garden hose to a floor drain or bucket. The manual labels this Dry-mode-only. It is not a cooling-mode pump or heat drain plan: LP0723WSR is not documented as a heater and no built-in lift pump is confirmed. The cover marks R32/A2L; refrigerant-system service is not routine owner maintenance.
The washable filter should be cleaned every two weeks (more often in a dusty room). LG recommends vacuuming first, then washing a heavily soiled filter with mild detergent and drying it in the shade before replacement.
What changes with your answers?
It fits a plan when 7,000 SACC is enough, the slider measures 25–47 inches, and a single hose works. A 7,100-SACC minimum, essential heat or essential confirmed app control removes it. The specification sheet lists CEER 6.9 under a DOE waiver, but an exact EnergyGuide label CEER is not confirmed; a label-based filter should leave that unknown unmet. LG lists 53/51 dBA high/low, not an independent sound test.
For a narrower, lighter cabinet, compare the 6,000-SACC Midea MAP06S1JWT-B. The Whynter ARC-102CS also has a 7,000-SACC rating, but its exact panel span remains unresolved. The LG LP0725WSSM is a slightly higher 7,300-SACC choice with ThinQ listed and a different, narrower slider span; for an 8,000-SACC need, compare the LP0825WSSM and its separate installation details.
The original sources establish setup and specification claims, not measured room cooling, energy use, noise, app response or long-term reliability. Check the exact current manual and fit before buying, especially if you need a nonstandard window insert.
