A useful fit for

A room where 7,300 BTU/h SACC is a plausible capacity tier, the measured slider fits 20 1/2–39 15/16 inches, and single-hose cooling plus connected control suit the household.

The main tradeoff

It is larger than LG’s 6,000-SACC PG compact models but below the 8,350-SACC LP0825WSSM. The exact sources do not establish CEER, cabinet dimensions, weight or a numeric sound value. This WSSM is cooling-only; the similar-looking LP1025WHSM is a different heat model and needs its own drain plan.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Would a documented 7,100-BTU/h SACC minimum fit, while an 8,000-BTU/h minimum excludes it?

LG gives this exact model 7,300 BTU/h SACC. Its 11,000-BTU/h ASHRAE number is not substituted for an 8,000-SACC threshold.

Is heat essential, or are Cool, Dry and Fan enough?

The exact page and LP0725WSSM manual document Cool, Dry and Fan only; essential heat excludes this model.

Does the measured slider opening fall within the exact manual span?

The manual lists 20 1/2–39 15/16 in; below 20 1/2 or above 39 15/16 is not a documented kit fit.

The LG LP0725WSSM is a 7,300-BTU/h SACC single-hose portable air conditioner with an LG estimate of up to 300 square feet. Its useful place in the 2025 WSSM range is between the 6,000-SACC compact PG units and the 8,350-SACC LP0825WSSM. It is a cooling appliance, not the heat-enabled LP1025WHSM: similar styling and neighboring model numbers do not make the suffixes interchangeable.

What the two cooling ratings mean

LG lists 7,300 BTU/h under SACC and 11,000 BTU/h under ASHRAE. Those values use different methods; the larger ASHRAE figure is not a substitute when comparing DOE seasonal-adjusted capacities. The LP0725WSSM is a modest step up from LG’s LP0626PGF and connected LP0626PGSF at 6,000 SACC, but it remains below the LP0825WSSM’s 8,350 SACC. LG’s “up to 300 sq ft” figure is its stated estimate, not a guarantee that this unit will hold a chosen temperature in every 300-square-foot room. Sun exposure, ceiling height, open doorways, insulation and heat from equipment all affect the load.

If your essential filter is a documented minimum of 6,000 SACC, the listed rating clears it; a requirement for 8,000 SACC does not. A manufacturer area estimate should not decide a borderline room on its own. For a small, enclosed room, the lower LP0626 models may be enough; for a connected or sun-exposed space, consider whether the next size tier better reflects the load rather than assuming the largest number always wins.

One exhaust hose, one measured window route

The exact owner manual names a single flexible exhaust hose and an included two-piece sliding-window kit. Its stated opening range is 20 1/2 to 39 15/16 inches wide for a vertical slider, or the corresponding height for a horizontal slider. Measure the sash where the panel will actually sit and check the sill, frame and hose path. A measurement inside the nominal span does not confirm a fit if the panel cannot seat, the cabinet cannot stay near the opening, or the hose must be sharply bent.

LG’s instructions say to keep the hose short and straight and not to add an unapproved extension. This is a single-hose arrangement, so choose another documented design if two hoses are essential. The single hose still has to send heated air outdoors; the window panel must be sealed and the air inlets left clear. LG specifies a grounded 120-volt receptacle on a 15-amp circuit and says not to use an extension cord, surge protector or multi-outlet adapter. Check the circuit before positioning the cabinet instead of improvising a connection afterward.

Connected features are a convenience, not a capacity upgrade

The exact LG page lists Cool, Dry and Fan, along with a remote, adjustable thermostat, auto-swing outlet, 24-hour timer, Auto Restart and Auto Evaporation. LG also advertises ThinQ app scheduling and energy-use monitoring, with Alexa and Google voice-control compatibility. The owner-manual copy names LP0725WSSM, but is hosted on Wayfair’s CDN rather than LG’s; it says Wi-Fi features are model-dependent and setup requires a 2.4-GHz network. Treat ThinQ as an additional control path, not an independent performance claim, and verify your home network if app use is essential. The sources do not give a numeric sound rating for this model, so qualitative quiet language should not satisfy a hard dBA limit.

Heating is not among the documented modes. The fact that LG sells a similar-looking LP1025WHSM with Heat does not add a heat pump to the LP0725WSSM. If all-season heat is important, compare an exact heat model with its separate drainage and ambient-temperature requirements rather than extrapolating from the cabinet or family name.

Plan for water and filter access

LG describes self-evaporation during ordinary cooling, but the manual still covers a collection tank: a full-tank FL warning stops operation until the water is emptied. For extended Dry-mode use, the instructions allow a 5/8-inch garden hose at the continuous-drain connection. Do not treat that limited Dry-mode option as a heat-mode pump or as proof that no drainage will ever be needed. Leave enough room to reach the drain and filters, and route any hose so water can flow safely.

The manual calls for filter cleaning every two weeks, more often in a dusty room. It allows a heavily soiled filter to be washed with warm water and mild detergent and dried in the shade before reinstalling it. This is straightforward routine care, but a unit hidden behind furniture is harder to maintain. The sources reviewed do not establish the cabinet dimensions, product weight, CEER or numeric sound level, so those unknowns should not clear a tight-cabinet, carrying, energy-label or sound requirement.

Who should consider it?

Consider the LP0725WSSM if its 7,300-SACC tier is a better match than a 6,000- or 8,350-SACC alternative, your measured slider falls within the exact manual span, and you value connected control without needing heat. Compare the simpler LP0626PGF if 6,000 SACC and a remote are enough, the connected LP0626PGSF for a smaller app-controlled option, and the larger LP0825WSSM if its higher capacity is justified. The separate LP1025WHSM is the documented heat-capable sibling, but its heat operation requires a routed drain. No hands-on cooling, sound, energy-use or app-response testing is claimed here.
