Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does a 6,000-BTU/h SACC cooling rating meet your room requirement?
This model clears a 6,000-SACC minimum but not a 7,100-SACC minimum; the 9,700-BTU/h ASHRAE figure is a separate test method.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the clear slider opening fall in the 25–47-inch range?
The shared family manual specifies 25–47 inches, measured as the width of a vertical slider or height of a horizontal slider.
Explore this need in the finder →Is confirmed app control essential?
The exact LP0623WSR page does not list app control, and the family manual limits ThinQ to certain logo-bearing models; app support is unconfirmed and cannot satisfy an essential app requirement.
Explore this need in the finder →Must the same appliance provide heat?
The exact product page and shared model-named manual list Cool, Dry and Fan operation, not a heating mode.
Explore this need in the finder →Is a dual-hose system essential?
The LP0623WSR manual describes one flexible exhaust hose, so the unit does not meet an essential dual-hose layout.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need an EnergyGuide-label CEER minimum?
The specification sheet gives 6.5 CEER under a DOE waiver, but the EnergyGuide label CEER is not established; an essential label minimum remains unknown.
Explore this need in the finder →Can this model meet a 30-inch cabinet-height ceiling?
The exact sheet lists a 27 3/4-inch height. Measure around trim and leave required clearance rather than treating the cabinet height as the entire installation envelope.
Explore this need in the finder →The LG LP0623WSR is a 6,000 BTU/h SACC portable air conditioner for a room LG estimates at up to 250 square feet. Its clearest advantage over many basic listings is documentation: LG publishes exact cabinet measurements, weight, a numeric sound rating and a 25–47-inch window-panel span. It is a single-hose, cooling-only unit, so fit and installation matter as much as the capacity label.
Choose by the DOE number, not the bigger comparison figure
LG gives this model 6,000 BTU/h under the U.S. DOE/SACC method and 9,700 BTU/h under ASHRAE. Those figures use different rating methods; the larger number does not mean that the unit satisfies a 9,700-SACC requirement. LG's “up to 250 sq ft” estimate is a starting point, not a promise for a sun-exposed room, a tall ceiling, an open plan or a space with substantial heat from people and equipment. If your room has a demanding load, a 7,000-SACC option such as the LP0723WSR clears a higher capacity threshold and carries LG's larger 300-square-foot estimate. It is not a substitute for proper room-load assessment.
LG's exact sheet reports 6.5 CEER under a DOE waiver and 53/51 dBA high/low. The 6.5 value is not the verified EnergyGuide CEER; keep label-only filtering unknown. These sound values are manufacturer ratings, not independent tests.
Measure the opening before choosing this version
The shared LP0623WSR/LP0723WSR/LP0823GSSM owner manual lists a sliding-window kit that adjusts from 25 to 47 inches. The stated span means width in a vertical slider or height in a horizontal slider. The manual describes a 25-inch vent panel and a 25-inch extension: the first can be used alone for a 25-inch opening, and the two are joined for larger openings through 47 inches. Measure the clear space where the kit will sit, not the nominal frame size; screens, locks and trim can reduce the usable opening.
This is a single-hose layout. The spec sheet lists a 14–59-inch exhaust hose, but the manual's practical instruction is to keep the designed hose short and straight rather than extending it with improvised tubing. A nearby window, a sealed panel and clear air inlets/outlets make the intended setup more plausible. For a window measuring 48–52 inches, the newer LP0626PGF has a separately documented uncut 27–52-inch kit (its manual also instructs trimming panel A below 27 inches without a post-cut minimum); its size and weight details are not established in the sources reviewed, so do not assume it has the same cabinet as this model.
Cabinet and outlet constraints are unusually concrete
LG lists the LP0623WSR at 17 1/8 inches wide, 27 3/4 inches high and 13 inches deep, with a product weight of 56.3 pounds. The casters help with rolling on a level floor; they do not make it a light appliance for stairs, and the stated depth does not include the clearance needed for its hose and airflow. Check the full path from delivery to its final place, including doorways and turns, before relying on the compact footprint.
The spec sheet says 115 V/60 Hz and a 15-amp plug type, with 905 watts and 8.2 rated amps in cooling. The manual calls for a grounded 120-volt, 15-amp receptacle and prohibits an extension cord, surge protector or multi-outlet adapter. Follow the manual's dedicated-grounded-outlet instructions; do not turn a long reach to the window into an electrical workaround.
Remote controls, but no documented heat or confirmed app
LG lists Cool, Dry and Fan, panel/remote operation, two cooling and fan speeds, a timer, Auto Swing and Auto Restart. No heat mode is listed. The shared manual describes ThinQ only on some logo-bearing models, while the exact page does not list Wi-Fi. App support is unconfirmed; do not count it for an essential connected-control need.
Cooling uses an evaporative water system, but the manual also says a full internal tank triggers an “FL” warning and stops operation until it is emptied. For continuous drainage in Dry mode only, LG documents a 5/8-inch-inside-diameter garden hose leading by gravity to a floor drain or bucket. That is not a built-in pump and does not create a continuous cooling-mode or heating-mode drain plan. The washable filter needs regular attention: LG's manual recommends checking and cleaning it every two weeks, more often when conditions are dusty.
Where this model fits—and where it does not
LP0623WSR is a sensible candidate when a documented 6,000-SACC class is enough, a 25–47-inch sliding opening works, and you can use one hose and a grounded outlet near the window. A 7,100-SACC minimum, a dual-hose requirement, a need for heat, a window outside the manual's range or a required built-in condensate pump rules it out. If connected control is essential, the absence of exact-SKU confirmation also rules it out. The specification-sheet CEER should not be substituted for a verified EnergyGuide value in a strict label-based filter.
Compared with the 6,000-SACC LP0626PGF, LP0623WSR has a lower 9,700-BTU/h ASHRAE figure but a published 25–47-inch window span and detailed cabinet measurements; the PGF family manual covers a different standard uncut 27–52-inch span and allows panel A to be trimmed below 27 inches without specifying the final minimum. Compared with the LP0723WSR, it gives up 1,000 BTU/h SACC and 50 square feet of LG's stated area estimate, while the two share the 25–47-inch kit range and very similar listed cabinet dimensions. These are setup and rating differences, not evidence that one will cool a particular room better in a real-world test.
