LG LP0526PGF vs LP0626PGF vs LP0626PGSF: rating and Wi-Fi differences

The 2026 LG compact group looks similar, but the exact suffix can change the published capacity figures and whether phone control is affirmatively listed. Choose by SACC first, then confirm the precise control and installation setup rather than treating a shared cabinet or area estimate as a room guarantee.

First separate ratings from estimates

The LP0526PGF is rated 5,000 BTU/h SACC and 8,500 BTU/h ASHRAE; LG estimates up to 150 square feet. The separately named LP0526PWF is another exact 5,000-SACC code; Best Buy lists 7,000 ASHRAE and the same up-to-150-sq-ft estimate, while an exact LG product-detail page was not located. The LP0626PGF and Wi-Fi LP0626PGSF are each listed by LG at 6,000 SACC and 10,000 ASHRAE, with up-to-250-square-foot estimates. The distinct LP0626PWF retailer listing gives the same 6,000-SACC tier, but 8,000 ASHRAE, two cooling settings, two fan speeds and 240 CFM. Do not transfer any rating or control detail between these near-named SKUs; the manual cover lists both the PWF and PG/PGSF codes as separate models. SACC is the practical capacity number to line up against other current portable AC models. ASHRAE is a separate test-method value, not an extra amount of room cooling to add on.

None of those square-foot ceilings says that a room of that exact size will cool well in every home. Open doors, high ceilings, strong afternoon sun and hot equipment can change the load. If capacity is an essential threshold, use SACC: choosing a 6,000 minimum removes the LP0526PGF; requiring more than 6,000 removes all three. Do not reverse-engineer a capacity requirement from the room-area marketing claim.

Within the 6,000 class, app support is the deciding suffix

LG lists a remote, panel controls, two fan speeds, adjustable thermostat, casters, Cool/Dry/Fan modes and a window kit for the base LP0626PGF. The LP0626PGSF keeps the same listed SACC, ASHRAE and area estimate as the PGF but adds ThinQ app control, schedules and energy-use monitoring, plus Alexa/Google voice claims. The exact PGSF listing, not the shared appearance, is evidence for connected control. The PWF listing confirms a remote and panel but does not establish an app; its support manual says Wi-Fi applies only to some models, without mapping that function to PWF. If an app is essential, only choose an exact configuration whose listing confirms it. If not, do not treat the PGF/PWF difference as a capacity upgrade; the documented SACC is the same, although the PWF listing gives a different ASHRAE figure.

The 5,000-SACC LP0526PGF and LP0526PWF are separate remote-and-panel models. The PGF's LG product page does not list Wi-Fi; the PWF's exact connected-control status remains unknown, since its retailer listing shows a remote and the family manual says Wi-Fi applies only to some codes. The 150-square-foot claims are sizing guidance, not independent tests. The family manual lists Cool, Dry and Fan; no Heat mode is documented for these compact configurations, so a heat requirement points elsewhere.

The window and outlet may rule out all three

These compact models use a window exhaust route and need an outdoor path. The family manual includes a hose and diffuser, and the unit remains a one-room portable appliance, not a hose-free cooler. The shared family manual gives the included uncut standard sliding-window panel a 27–52-inch span, then separately instructs trimming panel A for openings shorter than 27 inches without naming a post-cut lower bound. It recommends a short, straight hose and calls for a grounded 120-volt, 15-amp receptacle. It prohibits extension cords and multi-outlet adapters. Measure the opening where the installed panel will sit and check the cabinet distance, hose path and required clearance. A 26-inch opening is not confirmed by the standard uncut-panel filter, although the manual permits trimming; verify the actual cut fit. A 53-inch opening exceeds the documented standard maximum; do not stretch it by assumption.

The LP0626PWF sources confirm a collection tank and bottom drain, but do not establish an automatic-evaporation claim for this exact suffix. The manual advises emptying the tank before moving or long storage and cleaning the washable filter every two weeks, then drying it in shade. The two PG variants’ separate listing claims about evaporation should not be transferred to PWF. Plan routine access to both drain and filter. The PGSF manual instructions apply ThinQ to Wi-Fi-equipped models and specify 2.4-GHz setup guidance; choose the connected variant only if that fits your network plan.

What these sources cannot settle

The product pages use qualitative “quiet” language but do not provide a numerical sound level in the material reviewed. Exact cabinet dimensions, weight and CEER are likewise not established here; do not let an unknown pass a tight-space, sound or label-efficiency requirement. Room performance and app responsiveness have not been independently tested. Consult the exact support page and current model manual before installation, especially if you need a nonstandard window solution. For practical measuring and drain planning, also read window and floor clearance and portable AC drainage and filter care.
