Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
What cooling rating does this exact code document?
Exact support and dated store listing differ on SACC. Do not approve a hard capacity requirement until the offered model’s label is confirmed.
Explore this need in the finder →Does your measured window fit the manual’s printed range?
The exact manual lists 20.5–50 inches. It allows panel cutting below the printed range without specifying a new minimum, so this check uses only those endpoints.
Explore this need in the finder →Can a full tank be drained downhill?
Automatic evaporation does not eliminate all water handling. The manual supplies a gravity drain path; no integrated lift pump is documented.
Explore this need in the finder →Is Heat an essential function?
Only the HWTB suffix documents Heat. The WT suffix does not.
Explore this need in the finder →The BPT08WTB is a current-reference single-hose portable AC with a support-page headline of 8,150 BTU/h SACC and 12,000 BTU/h ASHRAE. A second manufacturer-store title gives 8,000 SACC and 12,500 ASHRAE for this code. Because those exact-model sources disagree on both capacity labels, neither number is used as a hard match. This is still a useful model to understand, but someone with a strict minimum cooling threshold should compare its label and documentation before treating it as eligible. Its suffix is WTB, not HWTB: the exact support modes and manual identify cooling, dehumidification and fan, without Heat.
Features that shape everyday use
The exact support page lists four cooling speeds and three fan speeds, Follow Me on the LCD remote, a 24-hour timer, automatic louver swing, washable filter, R-32 refrigerant, auto evaporation and casters. Follow Me uses the remote as a temperature sensor; it should not be read as Wi-Fi, voice control or a phone app. The model’s 8,150-SACC support number suggests a different tier from BPT05WTB and BPT06WTB, but because the Store title conflicts, the higher-tier comparison is a question to verify rather than a fact to build an essential match on. I found no exact EnergyGuide CEER or annual energy use.
This configuration is not a multi-hose design or an inverter model on evidence reviewed. The four-model BPT08/BPT10 manual names the cooling-only BPT08WTB separately from the BPT08HWTB heater. If winter Heat is required, the HWTB suffix is the relevant family branch; a similar picture or shared cabinet does not add a mode to the WTB code.
Check the opening, then the actual cabinet
The exact family manual describes one exhaust hose and a standard slider from 20.5 to 50 inches. It says the panel can be shortened for a narrower opening but does not specify a new supported minimum after cutting; the vent port must remain intact. Only the published range is treated as confirmed. Connect the exhaust for Cool and Dehumidify; Fan operates with the exhaust disconnected. The manual recommends connecting the hose in dehumidification for better results. A single hose is simple to route, but it exhausts room air, so it is not equivalent to a dual-hose configuration. Check whether the hose can run to the window without sharp bends or extra extension, and whether the sash can securely hold the panel.
Physical fit is a more serious unknown here. The newer exact support record says 16.5 × 14.06 × 27.09 inches and 55.4 pounds, while the older official family manual lists 17.32 × 13.98 × 28.15 inches and 61.2 pounds. These are not rounding differences. No revision bridge resolves which measurements apply to the exact stock being offered, so width, depth, height and mass are all omitted from hard matching. If the cabinet must pass through a narrow door, fit beneath a sill, or meet a strict lifting cap, ask the seller or manufacturer for the dimensions of the exact unit before relying on it.
Water and care are not optional details
Auto evaporation is described, but high humidity can still fill the tank. The manual identifies drain warnings in Cool and Dehumidify and provides a gravity route; water needs a lower drain or tray. No built-in lift pump is documented. The manual says continuous drainage is recommended for Dehumidify, and weekly filter cleaning is required during operation. Keep enough air space around the cabinet to avoid blocking intake or discharge. Its room-temperature operating instructions also matter in spaces that get cold at night or run unusually hot; a requested temperature outside the table should not be confused with the remote’s setpoint range.
How it should respond to your questionnaire
An essential 8,000-SACC minimum cannot be approved solely from one conflicting support title and one store title; the published evidence needs resolution. A 10,000 minimum clearly does not pass. A 40-inch window opening is in the manual’s standard range, but 50.1 inches is not. Heat, dual hose, an exact CEER target, app control and a known cabinet maximum should each remove the model when those requirements are essential. A general preference for remote sensing may keep it, but only if “Follow Me” describes the behavior you want. It is not smartphone control.
Compare BPT08HWTB if you need Heat, and BPT10WTB only if a larger cooling tier is documented for your exact requirement. The BPT08WTB remains a reasonable candidate for someone who values remote sensing and speed choices, has no strict capacity or cabinet dimensions threshold, can work with one hose, and accepts checking rating and fit evidence before buying. The dated store snapshot showed this exact code unavailable; that is not a universal availability claim. Confirm BPT08WTB on the product label, not just a generic listing heading.
